Angel Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The great Falls are also known as the Salto Angel.
Angel Falls can also be called Kerepakupai merú which means “the deepest place.” It is the tallest waterfall in the world and is located in Venezuela, South America. They are located on River Caroni, on the tributary of Orinoco, and on the Guiana Highlands in the Bolivar region. The Falls are near the Panama Canal and Machu Picchu.
Angel Falls was named after the American pilot, James Angel, who found Angel Falls in 1935. The Falls are approximately 3,212 feet high, 500 feet wide at its base, and 8,400 feet above sea level. Angel Falls seem to be soaring over a flat topped plateau called Auyan-Tepui which means Devil’s Mountain. Angel Falls thrusts off the Tepuy and is surrounded by rivers, lagoons, other waterfalls, savannas, and forests. The waters of Angel Falls is so high that before hitting the ground the water is vaporized by the powerful winds and turns into mist. When the water is flowing down it does not touch the cliff.
The Falls are one of Venezuela’s top tourist attractions. If you want to see Angel Falls there are only two possible ways; you can either go by helicopter or by boat. If you go by helicopter you cannot see down below or even go there. If you go by boat you can go swimming and have more fun. Angel Falls is a beautiful place especially because it is surrounded by many forests, and other waterfalls. The height and beauty of Angel Falls makes it one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
